Lof vs. kritiek
Just perfect
I've tried and tested a lot of different rubber and until now, the Hiangle from Fiveten was the first pair I bought again.
After a while with the Scarpa Instinct, I was sold.
Wow, this shoe is just perfect for me.
The first shoe that fits perfectly after I broke it in, good support, excellent grip on small footholds, toe hooks that only let go when I want them to and heel hooks that let me challenge physics.
I'm really astonished by the quality and versatility of the Instinct. The shoe sits so tight around my foot, that the velcro strip basically isn't really necessary. But not too tight that it hurts my toes.
Even though I'm really positive and will most definitely buy them again, there are some cons as well.
1. If you're a lead climber, this might not be the shoe for you. Though it sits perfectly around your foot, it's not meant to be for long routes. At least it doesn't feel that way. I often find myself slipping out of it after a few problems.
2. In comparison with the Hiangle from Fiveten, the rubber of the Instinct is very hard. Especially in the beginning. This makes for longer durability but you'll be trading in feel with the rock. Really small foothold, for example, are harder to recognize and make insecure at first when placing your feet.
3. They are pretty expensive in comparison to other climbing shoes, not that I think that they're not worth it but it's just a fact.

Maat klopt niet met de werkelijkheid en erg breed
Normaal gesproken maar 47 ook voor Scarpa Velocity maar bij dit type paste maat 49 nog maar net. Beetje geplette tenen is ok maar 2 volle maten groter moeten kopen om je voeten er in te proppen is niet ok.
Daarnaast zijn ze erg breed vooral bij de tenen.

Dit is een schoen die ik heb gekocht om wat meer te werken aan m'n techniek. Ik kwam van de La Sportive Python en de BD shadow welke mij echt verliefd hebben gemaakt op klimmen. Beide met een zachte zool zijn ze heerlijk om gedachteloos je voeten op volumes en andere treetjes te pleuren. Nadeel is alleen dat ik heel snel door de zool heen sleet. Daarna de Scarpa Helix gekocht voor buiten i.v.m. het plan alpine te gaan klimmen. De harde zool was eerst lastig om mee om te gaan maar na een tijdje worstelen leerde ik het wel heel erg waarderen. Deze voldeden alleen niet op de meer dan verticale routes waardoor ik alsnog de zachte zolen aan het verslijten was ook op de makkelijkere routes. Toen volgde de Scarpa Instincts. Deze schoen is een heerlijke combinatie van een flexibele, maar stijve zool, een goede downturn, maar toch comfortabel, strakke heelhooks en de beste toehooks die ik tot nu toe heb gehad. Echt een hele fijne aankoop om goed op te leren klimmen en heel veel meters op te maken.
Zelf heb ik een erg brede voet wat goed past zelfs met een maatje kleiner. Denk niet dat het ideaal is voor smalle voeten.
