Additional safety when retrieving people buried in avalanches - the Backup by Pieps! Its a mini transmitter which is a supplement to the already attached beacon and only works in combination with one. If someone is touring and buried under an avalanche while trying to retrieve his comrades, the Backup sends a signal in order to be noticed by other search parties itself. In case the Backup doesnt register any movement or if theres is no active beacon close by, these signals are transmitted on the standard frequency of 457 kHz which can be received by any beacon. Yet, these signals do not influence possible searches in progress. Due to the compact size as well as the low weight the emergency transmitter is barely noticeable and always with you on your tour There is a carry system to attach the transmitter to your body included in delivery, as well. If you like touring and like to think ahead, you should definitely get the Backup by Pieps!
