Ortovox is here to protect us. And, it was this guiding principle that took centre stage in the development of the Free Rider 16 ski touring backpack as well. The downhill-oriented backpack for freeriders is equipped with a SPS flex back protection, which makes the back panel and protector into one flexible unit. Built on eight pads, all of which remain flexible in the cold, this protector will adapt to your body and adsorb impact. The protective foam used for this pack is SAS-TEC. After impact from the outside, the viscoelastic foam will return to its original state in a very short period of time. In contrast to other padding material, this foam is capable of multiple hits (impact will not destroy the protectors) and will respond to even smaller impacts. The padding is almost linear, which results in less strain on the human body. In addition to the optimised back protector, the Free Rider 16 boasts other great features as well, including the ski and snowboard carrying system as well as the helmet net. A wide hip belt will make for a snug and secure fit, even when youre moving.
