General information Impregnation ensures that malaria mosquitoes do not land on the net or bite through it. Thanks to our sustainable Durallin® technology, the contact insecticide deltametrine (CAS No. 52918-63-5) or permethrin (CAS No. 258-067-9) adheres to the net. Despite the minimal impregnation dosage, we guarantee optimum protection against mosquitoes, lice, bedbugs and fleas. The long-lasting impregnation (LLI) remains effective for up to three years. Care Plus® became one of the first suppliers of Durallin® LLI-impregnated mosquito nets in 2003. LLI mosquito nets are recommended by the World Health Organization for use in areas with a high malaria risk, like tropical Africa, the Amazon region, and parts of Southeast Asia. We recommend that you use impregnated nets in a well-ventilated area and wash your hands after contact. Care Plus® impregnated nets can be machine-washed at 30 °C up to 20 times without losing their effectiveness. Store impregnated nets out of reach of children. Impregnated bed nets Stinging insects do more than just disturb a good nights sleep; they also transmit diseases like malaria, yellow fever, and dengue fever. We recommend impregnated bed nets when travelling to areas with a malaria risk. Like most mosquitoes, malaria mosquitoes are primarily active between sunset and sunrise. We recommend you hang up the impregnated net before sunset in a well-ventilated area. Our hanging impregnated bed nets are bell-shaped (one attachment point) or box-shaped (four attachment points) and suitable for one to two sleepers. The impregnated pop-up bed net (without attachment points) is dome-shaped and suitable for one sleeper. Lightweight (impregnated) New in our product range are the Care Plus® Lightweight nets. All Lightweight nets are Long-Lasting Impregnated (LLI) and suitable for areas with a malaria risk. Our Lightweight nets are 50% lighter than our regular nets, and ideal for the world traveller. The standard nets are woven in a hexagonal honeycomb mesh pattern. The Lightweight nets use a rhombus mesh pattern that uses less material than the standard net, while still keeping a stable form. Lightweight bed net Our hanging Lightweight impregnated bed nets are bell-shaped (one attachment point, 300 g) or wedgeshaped (one attachment point, 150 g) and suitable for one to two sleepers. Lightweight bug sheet Our Lightweight bug sheet is a rectangular net measuring 220x100 cm. This multifunctional impregnated bug sheet weighs only 90 g. Stretched across a mattress, it keeps bedbugs away. It can also be used as a window screen, fabric for repairing bed nets and even as a picnic blanket. Maintenance of Care Plus® impregnated and Lightweight net Our nets are made from durable polyester fibre. All Durallin® impregnated nets can be machine-washed at 30 °C up to 20 times without losing their effectiveness. You should preferably use a chlorine-free detergent. Always store the net in its accompanying bag in a dark place. Store impregnated nets out of reach of children. Tip! Always consider the environment when disposing of an impregnated net. Consult your local authority for the nearest collection point for chemical waste.
