Tough winter companion

I've got a Canada Goose Constable for 10-15yrs and needed to replace/upgrade it. Tried many brands...CG Resolute, Fjallraven Arktis, Nobis Yatesy, Outdoor Survival Canada (not sure which one). But ended up with this Jokla parka. To be honest mostly because of the 50% discount, can't find a better deal. But of course also because this Jokla has all the right features of a heavy winter down parka. The material and attention to details are all of high quality.

The thing I didn't like from my Constable parka is the outer cotton/poly fabric. It looks great, is thick and offers protection, BUT it isn't very tough and durable. I haven't used a lot but there are wear signs and damaged fabrics all over. I guess the Jokla Cordura nylon/PU fabric will do better. Further it has many zipped(not just velcro) pockets and high quality down insulation.

I've got the blue parka, it looks better to my taste (more darkish blue) than the photo's on this website which are too light. Please check for more accurate pictures on internet and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer advises to size down. Like the other reviewer: not for me. I've a large size for most of my clothes and the Jokla is just right in large, pit-to-pit it is 64cm wide. I'm 1.90m and 75 kg. A parka needs to have some room and you can adjust it anyway with the drawcords. The Jokla is for sure not so large compared to a CG expedition/resolute or Fjallraven arktis, which are huge and I would take a medium size.

Same about the hood complains of the other reviewer. True, the hood is not that big like other brands, but it is just good for me. Though I've a small head and not much hair. If you like a huge hood, go for CG, Fjallraven, Nobis. The adjustment of the Jokla hood are great and better than others. Three straps on top/sides of the hood and two at the front around the neck.

The only thing I'd like to change about the Jokla is the front length which runs a bit short up to your chin. I like winter parka's to be a bit longer, up to my nose. But when I use the fur around my neck/face this problem is more or less solved.

Some other features that are not so clear from the information:
-besides zipped pockets, there are 2 large inside pockets with velcro closure for big items like gloves or a hat
-it has cuffs inside the sleeves, to keep the wind and chill out
-there are two ways to hang your coat, inside and outside (tough strap) in the neck area
-two windflaps on the inside and outside (though not down filled)
-zippers are YKK, the front zipper is 3-way, heavy duty Vislon
